If you haven’t heard already (where have you been hiding?) the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner is Billy Reid; he won $300,000 for his business and a yearlong mentorship with a team of fashion professionals. He is based in Alabama. The two runner-ups are also worthy recipients: Prabal Gurung and Eddie Brogo. They each received $100,000 and a yearlong mentorship. I love a contest where the runner-ups are also rewarded!
Rachel Zoe is pregnant! Much of the 3rd season was focused on Rodger, her husband, and many of her friends and family asking her about when she’d finally have a child. She looks radiant! I can’t wait to see the next season of The Rachel Zoe Project.
Google unveiled Boutiques.com; I’ve been playing with it. Celebrities, designers, bloggers and more can be followed, and you can create your own boutique. You can ‘love or hate’ designs; it is interactive fashion fun. You can purchase fashion on the website as well. I haven’t made up my mind yet as to whether this will be a social media destination for me.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will launch a lifestyle brand at Kohl’s; I am eager to find out more. I’ve followed Jennifer’s JLo fashion line, until her Sweetface fashion venture ceased in 2008. I think that they have a great lifestyle, so I am super curious about their latest joint venture into menswear, womenswear, and home decor… at affordable prices, I’m sure.
