Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the USA for remembering the men and women who died while serving in the armed forces. It’s a long weekend for many workers and often marks the beginning of ‘summer’ holiday season. However, the importance of it is not to be trivialized nor ignored. Those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country need to be remembered as their sacrifice was made to support our freedom.
I have had the day off, gotten busy with many activities, but now I make sure to make some time to remember. As it is said, “Freedom isn’t free.” The price has been paid by many brave men and women. In the midst of sales, barbecues, and summer blockbuster movies, it’s good to take a moment to say, “Thank you.”
